PIIPER Support

Help with getting started, finding real exposures, removal requests, and erasing your data.

Get in touch

Email aplgagal@gmail.com and we'll get back to you within a few days.

For bug reports, please include your iPhone model, iOS version, the app version shown in Settings, and the screen where you saw the problem. Never send your personal information (email addresses you are watching, phone numbers, SSN). We cannot see it and do not want it.

Getting started

How do I set PIIPER up?
  1. Read the limits on the welcome screen, switch on I understand these limits, and tap Create my key and start. This creates your encryption key on the iPhone.
  2. On the My Info tab, tap + and add an email address, then tap Verify and enter the code.
  3. Add a phone number, name, or Social Security number if you wish, then tap Confirm these are mine.
  4. On the Exposures tab, tap the refresh button to scan.
Can I try it without entering anything real?

Yes. When adding a value, tap the sample identity button. It fills in a fictional person who appears in the built-in sample sources, so you can walk through scanning, severity, and a full removal request with nothing of yours involved. Every sample person is fictional.

Do I need an account?

No. There is no account, login, or sign-up. Your data lives only on your iPhone, which also means we cannot recover it for you if you erase it or lose the phone without a backup.

Finding exposures

How do I find real exposures?

Two ways. In Settings, turn on Look up real breaches to check your verified email addresses against a real breach database. The app sends only a one-way hash of the address, never the address itself, and explains this before you agree. Or, on the Exposures tab, tap the page-search button at the top left and paste the address of a page that shows your information, such as your listing on a people-search site.

What does the severity score mean?

Each exposure is scored from 0 to 100. The score goes up with the kind of data (a Social Security number scores higher than an email address), the kind of source it was found on, whether passwords or other credentials were exposed alongside it, and how recent the exposure is. Tap any exposure and open Why this severity to see the reasons and what to do next.

The page check says the site refused the request.

Some sites only show listings inside a web browser or block automated requests. You can still request removal: open the Removals tab, tap +, and enter the page address yourself.

Can PIIPER delete my data from the dark web or from a breach?

No, and no product honestly can. Data in a past breach or on the dark web is copied beyond anyone's reach. PIIPER shows you what to do instead: change passwords, turn on multi-factor sign-in, freeze your credit, and keep watching. The Guidance section links to free support organizations.

Removal requests

How does a removal request work?

Open a clear-web exposure and tap Request removal. PIIPER drafts a letter citing GDPR Article 17 or CCPA §1798.105, you sign it, and you send it from your own mail app or the site's form. PIIPER then tracks the response deadline, reminds you when it passes, and re-checks the page. When your information is gone, the request is marked completed.

The deadline passed and the site has not replied.

The request is marked overdue and PIIPER shows follow-up steps: send a reminder that cites your original request date and the legal deadline, or file a complaint with the regulator, which is your data-protection authority under GDPR or the California Privacy Protection Agency under CCPA. If a site refuses, ask for the legal basis of the refusal in writing first.

Notifications and data

What are the notifications for?

If you allow them, PIIPER alerts you on the device when a new exposure is found or a removal request changes status. The alerts are created on your iPhone and never include your personal information. Turn them off any time in iOS Settings.

Where is my data stored?

Only on your iPhone, encrypted with AES-256. The key is created on the device, protected by its secure hardware, and never leaves it. We run no server for the app and receive none of your data. The full details are in the Privacy Policy.

How do I delete my data?

Go to Settings → Erase all my data. The encryption key is destroyed and every record is deleted. This cannot be undone. Deleting the app also removes its data.

Will my data move to a new iPhone?

No. The key is created in the iPhone's Secure Enclave (on devices that have one) and is marked as never leaving this device, so it is not included in backups or transfers. On a new iPhone you start fresh: create a new key and add your details again. This is deliberate; it means a backup alone can never expose your information.
