Frequently asked questions
How do I turn it on?
- Open the Settings app → Apps → Safari → Extensions.
- Tap AI Trust Filter and switch it on.
- Under Permissions, choose All Websites → Allow so it can work everywhere you browse.
- In Safari, tap the puzzle-piece (or AA) button in the address bar to open the filter's options and set your sensitivity.
The app's Open the Settings app button lands on AI Trust Filter's own page in Settings (iOS doesn't allow jumping straight to Safari's Extensions page). From there, tap ‹ Apps at the top, then Safari → Extensions.
Why isn't a site being filtered?
Three usual causes: Safari hasn't been given permission for that site (check the Extensions setting above), Filter enabled is switched off in the extension's options, or — on Facebook — the Connect to Facebook approval is turned off in the app. Also, very small images (avatars, icons) are skipped on purpose, and a block that makes up almost the whole page's text is never blurred.
Too much (or too little) is being blurred.
Open the extension's options in Safari and change Sensitivity: Strict blurs more, Lenient blurs less, Balanced is the default. You can also turn image blurring and text blurring on or off separately.
I changed a setting and nothing happened.
Changes apply when the page reloads or as new content scrolls in. Pull to refresh and you'll see the new setting take effect.
How do I see something that was blurred?
Tap the badge on it ("Possible AI · tap to view") and it un-blurs; tap again to blur it back. There isn't a permanent per-site allow list in this version — turning the filter off for a session is the way to browse a site unfiltered.
Can it filter inside the Facebook or Instagram app?
No — iOS doesn't let any app blur or draw over content inside another app. Use facebook.com in Safari instead, where the extension works. For a post you've already seen in the app, save the image to Photos and check it in the app's Scan tab.
How accurate is it?
No detector — this one or any commercial one — can prove content is AI-made. Treat a blur as a lead worth a second look, not a verdict.
How do I delete my data?
Everything is on your device. In the app's Library, use Clear to remove scanned items (or Export first to keep a copy). Deleting the app removes the Library and all settings.
