Frequently asked questions
How does feeding work?
Finishing a task feeds crumbs to your creature. A task of up to 2 minutes feeds 1 crumb, up to 5 minutes feeds 2, up to 15 minutes feeds 4, and longer feeds 8. The 2-minute version of any task feeds exactly the same as the full version. Crumbs add up for life and are never taken away. The in-app screen Settings → Explain the app to me plainly lists every rule and number.
Can my creature die, get sick or be sad?
No. It has four looks: content, napping, working (during a sprint) and delighted. There is no sad, hungry or sick look. If you do not open the app for more than 3 days it is shown napping when you come back, then wakes up delighted. Nothing is lost.
What happens if I tap "Not today"?
The task goes quiet for the rest of the day and the creature waves. Nothing is counted against you and nothing is shown anywhere. If the same task is set aside three days running, the app asks one friendly question about the task (shrink it, move it, let it go, or keep it as is), never about you.
How do reminders work, and why didn't I get one?
Reminders are local notifications created on your phone. They go out only on days a task is Ready, never more than your daily cap, and never while Don't interrupt me is on. Pick the tone (gentle, direct or silent) and the cap in Settings → Notifications. If iOS asked for permission and you said no, allow Doom Destroyer in iOS Settings → Notifications. Snoozes are never counted or shown.
What is a Focus Sprint?
Pick up to three tasks, choose the 2-minute version of any of them, and start. A jar fills instead of a countdown and your creature sweeps alongside you. You can turn on quiet brown or pink noise, and optionally let the app notice when you are moving so it can encourage you. Ending early still counts whatever you ticked off.
What does "noticing movement" use?
Only the phone's motion sensor, only during a sprint you started, and only if you turned the option on. It is processed on the phone and nothing is stored. No step counts are kept.
What does the Supporter purchase unlock?
Two extra creatures and two terrarium themes. It is a single one-time purchase through Apple, not a subscription. Nothing about routines, reminders or growth is behind it. Tap Restore purchase in Settings if you reinstall or move to a new phone with the same Apple ID.
Does it work offline? Does it sync?
It works completely offline. Doom Destroyer makes no internet requests of its own. It does not sync between devices; your routine lives only on this iPhone.
Can I make it quieter, or bigger?
Everything starts quiet: no sound, no haptics, no confetti. Turn on only what you like in Settings → Sensory, including Still / Calm / Lively animation, low-saturation, high-contrast and dark themes, an easier-reading rounded font and a left-handed layout. The system Reduce Motion switch always wins. iOS Dynamic Type is honored throughout.
How do I erase everything?
Archive individual tasks from the Routine tab (swipe, then Archive; archived tasks can be restored). To erase everything, delete the app. That removes the routine, history, creature and settings completely.
Is my data private?
Yes. Everything is stored on your phone. No account, no cloud, no analytics, no network. See the Privacy Policy.
