FreshKeeper for iOS · Developer: Patricia (Kat) Luttrell · Effective September 10, 2026 · Website section added October 3, 2026

The short version
  • These statements describe the app. This website logs visits for metrics — see “This website” below.
  • FreshKeeper never connects to the internet. No account, no cloud, no sync, no server.
  • Your fridge list lives in one file on your iPhone and nowhere else.
  • No ads, no tracking, no analytics, no third-party SDKs, no in-app purchases.
  • The only permission it may ask for is notifications, and only if you turn on the daily reminder.
  • It never asks for your SmartHQ password and never talks to GE's servers.

Information we do not collect

FreshKeeper does not collect, store, or transmit your name, email, contacts, location, device identifiers, advertising identifiers, or usage analytics. The app contains no networking code at all — nothing you enter can leave your phone through it.

Your fridge list

Items you add — by typing, tapping a quick-add chip, or pasting a shopping list — are saved in a single file inside FreshKeeper's own storage on your iPhone, along with your "ate it / tossed it" history for the month's stats. Nothing is uploaded, synced, or backed up by us. If you use iCloud Backup or iTunes/Finder backups for your phone, this file is included in those like any other app data, under Apple's own privacy terms.

Importing from your fridge's app

FreshKeeper brings in your fridge's scanned shopping list only through the SmartHQ app's own Share or copy function — you paste the text into FreshKeeper. FreshKeeper never asks for your SmartHQ login, never connects to GE's servers, and contains no GE software. The pasted text is turned into items and then discarded; the raw text is not kept.

Reminders

If you turn on the daily reminder, FreshKeeper asks iOS for notification permission and schedules one local notification at 9 AM listing what needs eating soon. It is created entirely on your phone — there is no push server. Turn it off in the app or in iOS Settings at any time.

Deleting your data

Remove any item with Ate it or Tossed. To erase everything, delete the app — that removes the list, history, and settings completely.

Children

FreshKeeper collects no personal information from anyone, of any age.

Trademarks

FreshKeeper is an independent app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by GE Appliances or Haier. GE, GE Profile, and SmartHQ are trademarks of their respective owners and are mentioned only to describe compatibility.

This website

This section is about the web pages you are reading now, not the FreshKeeper app. The app's behavior is exactly as described above.

When a page on this website is opened, one visit record is sent to the developer for site metrics. It contains the time, the page, the referring site, browser type, device class (mobile or desktop), language, time zone, screen size, an anonymous random identifier kept in your browser's local storage so repeat visits can be counted, and your approximate location — city, region, and country — looked up from your network address by a third-party service (geojs.io). Your network address itself is not stored in the visit record, your device's GPS is never requested, and no name, email, or account is involved. The record is delivered to a private workspace channel (Slack) that only the developer can read. It is not sold, shared, or used for advertising.

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, nothing is logged. You can also block scripts for this site or clear this site's data in your browser to remove the identifier. The hosting provider (Amazon CloudFront) may keep standard server logs as any website host does.

Changes to this policy

If a future version changes what FreshKeeper does with data, this page will be updated and the effective date above will change.
